The Town of Clarkdale Municipal Water Utility treats and distributes potable water to over 1,900 customers on a daily basis.  The Town of Clarkdale relies on groundwater supplies which are pumped to storage reservoirs from our Haskell Springs and Mountain Gate wells before being distributed to customers throughout the community.  We are acutely aware of the value of water in our arid environment, and are deeply committed to water conservation.  The average daily water use per residential user on the Clarkdale system is 71 gallons, which is among the lowest in the State of Arizona.

drought and water shortage preparedness plan

The Clarkdale Town Council adopted a Drought and Water Shortage Preparedness Plan (DWSPP) on November 14, 2006.  The purpose of the Plan is to provide strategies and procedures for periods of time when the Town's normal and customary water supplies may not be able to meet the Town's needs due to below normal rainfall, or other issues that have affected the water supply.

Under the Plan, the Town, its businesses and residents work together to reduce water demand until sufficient water supply becomes available.  The DWSPP calls for the implementation of "Demand Reduction Strategies" which are triggered by various circumstances including particular times of year, number of consecutive days when water demand exceeds safe production capability, or in emergency situations such as major equipment failures.

Please note:  During Demand Reduction Strategy I “Water Alert” (which is automatically in effect for the months of May, June, July, August, and September) outside water restrictions are in place and your watering schedule is dependent on your street address.
Drought Level I sign
There is no outside watering allowed on Mondays, or any day between the hours of 9:00 – 5:00 pm.  Even street numbers can water on Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday.  Odd street numbers can water on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday.  For property without an assigned street number, follow the Even street number schedule.
