History of the Valley View Cemetery
Valley View Cemetery was established and platted as part of the original town site of the Town of Clarkdale. The first burial was of Cornelius G. Shea, a native of Ireland, and took place in August, 1913. In 1959 management of the cemetery was transferred to the Town of Clarkdale. Since that date it has been operated by the Town.
Also located within the Town of Clarkdale is the Jerome Cemetery. The Jerome Cemetery, which is owned and operated by the neighboring Town of Jerome, was established in 1917 as a result of an influenza outbreak. Anyone searching for records of burials at the Jerome Cemetery is welcome to contact us, as we maintain a list of the people buried in the Jerome Cemetery.
